HED 2310 - Community Health Credits: 3 hrs This course explores the complex determinants of health and the influence these determinants have on the health of communities and populations. Students consider theoretical concepts of public health and examine ways community health issues are analyzed, framed and addressed. Communicable and non-communicable diseases are studied from a variety of perspectives to include social, cultural, economic, political, environmental, and biomedical factors. Students explore potential solutions to improve community health. This course meets the general education requirement for information literacy.
