EXS 2320 - Introduction to Public Health Credits: 3 hrs The content of this course focuses on the history and development of public health in the U. S. and globally. Emphasis is placed on underlying factors that produce health and their relationship to one antoher. Students will be introduced to the tenets of public health practice and the professions, organizations and methods that work together to ensure the health of individuals, communities, and populations. Students will be introduced to foundational priniciples of public health including, but not limited to epidemiology, environmental health and safety, emergency management and disaster preparedness, health behaviors and interventions, health systems and global health.
