This catalog is published by Winston-Salem State University as a guide for students, faculty and others interested in the graduate programs at the institution. Students enrolling in the university, beginning with the first summer session 2007, are subject to the provisions stated herein. The university reserves the right to change any provisions or requirements of this catalog at any time. Changes in the lists of administrative officers and faculty members may be made subsequent to the date of publication. Catalog supplements reflecting changes will be published as required. After a student begins a course of study, program requirements may be changed by the university. With the approval of the academic area Graduate Program Coordinator/ Faculty Advisor/Department chair, the student shall have the option of fulfilling either the old or the new requirements. A student who elects to fulfill the old requirements but finds that necessary resources (e.g., courses, internships) are no longer available, may make reasonable substitutions with the approval of the Graduate Program Coordinator/Faculty Advisor/Department Chair and the Graduate School Dean. In the event that a student has not completed the requirements for a graduate degree seven years after the effective date of a change in the degree requirements, the new Graduate Catalog requirements shall apply unless determined otherwise by the Graduate Program Coordinator/Faculty Advisor/Department Chair and the Graduate Dean.
